We – the people of the world who have responded to the call of the United Nations General Assembly to participate in the Rio+20 process – believe that the current direction of negotiations taking place at the UN Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, severely threatens the future and prosperity of all people and undermines the respect for individual self-determination.
After years of intense negotiations and millions of dollars invested in the UN CSD 2012 Rio+20 conference, negotiators are on the brink of agreeing to a systematic program of so-called Green “sustainable development.” This program is encapsulated in a document they call “The Future We Want,” but we believe it would create a “Future We Dread.” It would oblige the nations of the world to further contract their economies and implement energy policies that would trap the developing world in energy poverty and erase decades of progress in the developed world.
One of the best perspectives on the subject comes from the Vatican:
“Human beings, in fact, come first. We need to be reminded of this. At the centre of sustainable development is the human person. The human person, to whom the good stewardship of nature is entrusted, cannot be dominated by technology and become its object. A realization of this fact must lead States to reflect together on the short and medium term future of our planet, recognizing their responsibility for the life of each person and for the technologies which can help to improve its quality. Adopting and promoting in every situation a way of life which respects the dignity of each human being, and supporting research and the utilization of energy sources and technologies capable of safeguarding the patrimony of creation without proving dangerous for human beings: these need to be political and economic priorities. In this sense, our approach to nature clearly needs to be reviewed, for nature is the setting in which human beings are born and interact: it is their ‘home’.”
We urge the Governments and negotiators represented at Rio+20 to affirm that human beings must come first. History has shown that the environment is best protected when humans prosper. Nature suffers when people suffer. Any policy that would drive up the cost of energy, food, or other essential needs in the name of “sustainable development” must be rejected. Instead, we must pursue constructive policies of political and economic freedom and wise ecological stewardship that will enhance the future of the world’s people – most especially the 1.4 billion suffering in poverty.

The U.N. is complacently failing to question itself. Despite good intentons, the U.N. cannot optimise human welfare if it permits vested interests to flourish.

I would love to know if they are going to dig a hole, put the money in and demand the earth to stop changing. What a joke this has been. It is a natural process for the earth to heat up and cool down again. Tell me how man caused it when there was a huge rise in CO2's before the industrial revolution and cars came into the picture? We are paying Carbon Tax and everything has gone up in price. Pure greed.

I reject worship of nature as pre-eminent consideration. Human beings are to be served by the environment. We are responsible to God for our stewardship of the planet, not to the United Nations organization.

The infiltration of Marxist ideology in to the environmental movement has destroyed any genuine attempts to provide responsible stewardship and accountability for the planet. Worship of the God of nature and not nature is the only way people will be accountable for their actions.

We vehemently oppose a radical ideology of "Get rid of humanity to save the planet!" Hitler would applaud China's "one child policy", where women and children are brutalised and murdered. Humans are not a plague, and pregnancy is not a disease.
Our rights and freedom are in jeopardy as never before.
Congratulations to the Vatican, Lord Monckton and all others who champion justice and common sense.

Who knows nothing must believe everything ! We need more enlightment from the sustainability-environmentalist-religion ! This part of the UN is the most dangerous thing on the planet.Somebody has to stop this insanity ! Thanks to C-Fact and all other true humanists.

Agenda 21 is from hell. One of their missions is to limit the human population to fewer than 1 billion people. The Vatican does not support it. Stop reading inbetween the lines and getting it wrong. Other objectives of Agenda 21 is the elimination of all privately owned property, livestock production, use of fossil fuels for power generation and mechanized travel, most forms of mineral extractions and timber harvesting, personal travel, and the list is too numerous to list here and would take you too long to read let alone comprehend it all. Just google it for starters.

Despite all sorts of official data fiddling, New Zealand cooled over the last 10 years ending in 2010, and 2011 would make that even more cooling. The tredn is not the friend of the scamists.

The Vatican is socialistic and they want a one currency and New World Order. Yes, we as humans give a helping hand but not making it a way of life. We need small government (get out of our lives), free markets, freedom to live our lives as our Constitution and Bill of Rights states.
p.s. I am catholic and do not agree with the Vatican.

UNFCC bureaucrats want immunity from prosecution for overstepping their mandates, violating due process, breaching confidentiality, and conflicts of interest. And they want the power to tax rich countries for their energy use. Socialism has never succeeded. Green policies of land expropriation for national parks, tree farms, and wind mills in India and Africa only create more poverty and misery. They fail to produce any measurable decrease in presumed CO2 levels or climate change. What warming has occurred in the last 16 years? The Rio process is controlled by authoritarian socialists and ecologists, and rubber stamped by third world dictators looking for guaranteed handouts. As in Orwell's Animal Farm, pigs are more equal.
